Selection of UK Holiday resort posters from the past decades. Most of the old examples are the beautiful railway posters which had a style unto themselves, but it also includes and contrasts modern up to date versions as well.

Deep sea jellyfish (Image: JAMSTEC/CoML)

One of the more unusual creatures to feature in the CoML is this deep-sea jellyfish, found in the waters off Japan, that - when attacked by a predator - uses bioluminescence to "scream" for help. The findings appear in the journal PLoS One.

A gallery of amazing pictures taken at depths of strange and unseen creatures. Considering these creatures live in the dark, they are very colourful. check at the full gallery on the BBC

Groundbreaking new social platform Perfunkt.com | Ads of the World

Many companies struggle with building a brand and a following using social media when they only sell products to their market every 5, 10 or 15 years. Here is an example of how Electrolux/AEG are tackling the problem. Let's see if this is a strategy that can be applied to other companies and industries…

A Creative/Scientific View of UK Cities using Geotagging

Eric Fisher has produced a set of images of well-known cities using geotagging data.

Below are the UK cities in the list, but there are many others from around the world including; New York, Sydney & Paris.

Using geotagging data from Flickr, Eric has managed to produce a map of the city just from the dots of where images where taken. Also the dots have been split between tourists (red) and locals (blue), so it's possible to easily see the tourist attractions within the cities. Yellow dots represent images from people who it is unknown whether they are local or tourists.

Within London it is easy to see the outline of the Thames and the bridges that cross it.

The UK cities covered include: Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cork, Dublin, Durham, Edinburgh. Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Manchester & Oxford.

Visit Eric Fisher - Local and Tourists Flickr set for the full size images.

Insights into a 1yr old blog - Line25

Chris Spooner at blog.spoongraphics and Line25 has written a fantastic article giving visitors insight in to his year with his new (1yr old) blog Line25.

In the article he gives insight into how the blog has grown and developed over the year with stats on RSS feeds, visitor sources and which articles have proved the most popular.

Also provided is a history of the thought processes and ideas that have developed the blog in what it is today. This is especially interesting, as it shows with some clever thinking and a determined purpose, a blog can become an excellent tool for promotion.

It's a great example of how a blog can develop into a successful site.

New Global Visual Language for the BBC

Neville Brody the famous designer and Research Studios have worked together on a project for the BBC, to produce a single visual language that can be used for bbc.com as well as bbc.co.uk.

The new identity is due to be implemented soon, and is a great example of how an uniform identity can be put together and used in multiple media and on multiple devices without lossing it's identity.

More examples can be found on 'Research Studios' website.
